Volunteering
More than 85 research studies prove that kids do better in school when parents are involved. By volunteering through PALS, you’re demonstrating to your child the importance you place on education. But best of all, you’ll have fun. You’ll get to know other parents and our inspiring Lipman teachers. Parenting isn’t always easy, and you’ll share ideas, concerns and experiences with other people who care about you and your child.
Why I volunteer
"I volunteer because it helps me feel connected with my community and allows me to use my abilities in a unique way. I have been volunteering in Memphis for over 10 years. My first volunteer experience was with Habitat for Humanity. I have also volunteered with Catholic Charities of memphis helping members of our hispanic community. I am a 6 year member of the Junior League of Memphis and have been serving different agencies throughout Memphis during my membership. My vonlunteer experience with the Parents Association at Lipman is unique because it allows me to participate in my child's school community and have a direct impact on his education as well as his peers'. For me, the greatest joy of participation in PALS has been the comraderie I have developed with the other parents in the school and staff. All of us know how important parental involvement is in the success of early childhood education; therefore, it maskes sense to contribute as much as possible to help Lipman be the best school it can be."
